Terms of Service

Last updated: February 22, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MTBSloth ("the Service"), including the website at mtbsloth.com and the MTBSloth Android application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MTBSloth is a mountain biking platform that provides trail discovery, route planning, ride tracking, and community features. The Service uses OpenStreetMap trail data, elevation APIs, and user-contributed content.

3. User Accounts

  • You must sign in with a Google account to access features that require authentication.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must provide a unique username that does not impersonate others.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload false, misleading, or harmful content (fake trail conditions, offensive photos, etc.).
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data.
  • Use automated scripts to scrape data or overload the Service.
  • Circumvent rate limits or security measures.
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (routes, rides, photos, trail reports). By uploading content to the Service, you grant MTBSloth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the Service.

Content you mark as public (routes, leaderboard times) will be visible to other users. Trail photos, ratings, and condition reports contribute to the community and may be displayed to all users.

6. Trail Data Disclaimer

Trail data shown on MTBSloth comes from OpenStreetMap and user contributions. Trail conditions change constantly. Always verify trail conditions in person before riding. MTBSloth does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of any trail information.

7. Assumption of Risk

Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous activity. By using the Service to plan rides or navigate trails, you acknowledge that you participate at your own risk. MTBSloth is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or damages that occur during rides, whether or not they were planned using the Service.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, upload inappropriate content, or engage in abusive behavior. We will attempt to notify you before taking action except in cases of severe violations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MTBSloth is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
